Subject:  2008 WARTS Net Director election results.

The June 2008 Roster contained 91 members eligible to vote from the Northeast and Southwest sections.   31 members cast votes either on the air or by e-mail for a percentage of nearly 34%.  The response in the Northeast section was over 58% and for the Southwest section, where only the incumbent ran, the response was over 16%.  This is a so-so response.  Thank one and all for your time to study and respond to this important election.  The board would accept suggestions as how to get more net members involved with the net elections. 

The board wishes to thank all of the members who committed to serve on the board, and congratulations to the winners.

After review and approval of the voting, by the current board of directors the results are as follows:

Northeast Director        Brian Nielson, W7BJN               Moses Lake WA

Southwest Director        Bob Goodale, K7YFJ                 Washougal WA

The new officers will take office July 1, 2008 and serve for two years.  Their first order of business will be to elect a Chairman of the Board and reaffirm or appoint the WARTS Net “Appointed Officers” for the 2008, 2009 year.

Elections will be held next year in June for directors from the Northwest, the Southeast sections of the state, and Director at Large.
